ULTRAAQUA is an international manufacturer of advanced UV water disinfection systems for a wide range of water treatment applications. Founded in 1996 by two Danish scientists to solve the increasing water safety challenges by utilising innovative technologies, today it has grown into an international company with more than 10 000 UV disinfection systems worldwide. As ADEC, we are the Türkiye distributor of Ultraaqua in aquaculture industry.
The Open Channel SS series offers safe, chemical-free disinfection for municipal and industrial wastewater disinfection. The ULTRATHERM™ 16 000-hour UV lamps technology with its cross-row layout ensures complete pathogen exposure with market leading energy efficiency.
The robust, modular shell design provides a range of scaling and retrofitting options for existing water treatment infrastructures, such as old chlorination tanks. For even further construction versatility, an inclined open channel series is available, which provides up to 30% more depth options. This makes the design easily scalable and capable of treating flows of virtually any size.
The series features a sealed top compartment where the lamps, quartz sleeves, wiping motor, and UV sensors are easily accessed. This allows for quick, easy, and hygienic maintenance procedures while the system is submerged. Additionally, the automated ULTRAWIPER™ technology ensures clean quartz sleeves with tailored brush heads, ensuring operational efficiency.

Advanced Oxidation Processes (AOP) is a common name for the chemical/photochemical reactions that generate OH-radicals in the water, with the purpose of degrading persistent and toxic chemical compounds. Typical examples of UV based advanced oxidation processes are UV/Hydrogen Peroxide, UV/Chlorine, UV/Ozone, UV/Persulfate, and Vacuum-UV.
OH-radicals react fast with most organic compounds in second-order reactions, resulting in complex radical chain reactions that often lead to mineralization of the organic compounds with CO2 and water as end products. AOP is frequently employed as a final polishing step in many water treatment applications, to provide combined disinfection and removal of trace organic compounds to very low levels, thus ensuring water of very high purity.
ULTRAAQUA provides the most efficient and customized AOP solutions using advanced integrated CFD, UV fluence field, and radical chemistry process models with the purpose of calculating and optimizing the space-dependent OH-radical concentration and prediction of the target compound degradation.
The result is a selection of reaction system, lamp type, and optimal reactor design that ensures an efficient treatment process, taking into account the physicochemical characteristics of the water matrix and target compounds. With highly complex water matrices, empirical target compound degradation can be obtained experimentally in ULTRAAQUA’s high-quality research laboratory.

Reducing Total Organic Carbon (TOC) is critical in applications such as semiconductors & microelectronics, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, process wastewater, and power generation where even the smallest contaminants can affect the quality of the products, if the microorganisms are allowed to spread through the organic impurities.
The TOC Reduction VUV series include ULTRATOX™ VUV lamps which are emitting light at 185nm wavelength – light that has more energy than the 254nm used in standard UV water disinfection applications. This vacuum UV light energy promotes the formation of OH- radicals from the photolysis of water. The OH-radicals react with the organic matter in the water leading to the oxidation into CO2 (carbon dioxide) and H20 (water), resulting in the removal of TOC.
The TOC Reduction VUV series has been optimized through a combined chemical process and CFD modeling approach. For additional improved efficiency, the system can be combined with the addition of other oxidants such as hydrogen peroxide and ozone.
